The modern marina at the nearby busy fishing port of Amble is a major sailing venue with further facilities all along the Northumberland coast. Further up the coast is the very pretty village of Alnmouth with its beautiful sandy beaches.

Further north is the bustling historic town of Alnwick, Northumberland’s ducal town, with its full range of shopping facilities, local market, leisure centre and Playhouse theatre and of course the famous Alnwick Castle and the world famous Alnwick Gardens.

The surrounding area to sturton Grange Mill is well catered for with sporting opportunities ranging from the local cricket team at Warkworth who play just outside the castle walls to the unrivalled trout and salmon fishing on the River Coquet.
